Award Undelete is a very useful tool for recovering deleted files whether they were deleted accidentally or not. Award Undelete scans automatically any disk drive and checks the condition of the clusters where the deleted files were originally located. If the clusters were not overwritten, the deleted files can be recovered without any problems.
To recover a file you first have to select any of the disk drives or folders shown on the left pane's list and Award Undelete will read all the files and folders contained here. The results found will be shown on the right pane's list including the existing and deleted files and folders. The files in the list can be organized as in Windows Explorer, e.g. by name, size, etc. - the column called Condition shows the recovering possibilities of a file (good, poor, lost, and unrecoverable). You can explore folder by folder to look for deleted files, but also, you can go directly to the "All Deleted Files" folder and you will see all the files that were deleted on this disk drive. Next, you have to right-click on the deleted file you wish to recover and select the "Restore" or "Copy to" option. Finally, you have to select the destination folder where the recovered file(s) will be placed - It's recommended to select a different disk drive to avoid data loss.
